Eurovision 2021 | Rotterdam Township votes in favour of ESC 2021

April 23, 2020

After the cancellation of Eurovision 2021 it was announced that Rotterdam was interested in hosting the 2021 contest. This Thursday Rotterdam's city council voted in favour to hosting Eurovision 2021.

Rotterdam Ahoy is satisfied with the result, as they released a statement saying 'We are happy with this decision. We started this project last year with the township of Rotterdam and other partners, and we want nothing more than to welcome the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in Rotterdam Ahoy.'

A spokesperson of the NPO, NOS and AVROTROS tells dutch media site 'We are exceptionally thankful to Rotterdam and Ahoy for saying yes once again to welcoming the event in 2021. The last few weeks the organisation has been busy with the cancellation of the 2020 edition, but at the same time we are preparing for a possible organisation of Eurovision 2021 in Rotterdam.'

Dutch broadcasters NPO, NOS and AVROTROS hope to give a definite answer to the question in May. So we will have to wait until then before we know the host city of Eurovision 2021.

What do you think? Will Rotterdam be the host in 2021?
