Eurovision 2020 | Spain to release their song on 30th January

RTVE has just gave a major announcement today. The Spanish public broadcaster has released the cover of 'Universo', the Spanish song for Eurovision 2020 as well as the date of when the entry will be released. The cover photo of 'Universo' shows Blas Canto walking under a starry sky.

The next things to be announced will be song and the official video, which will be released on 30th January at 10:00 (CET). The song and video will be available only on the RTVE website. On 31st January, from midnight, the song will be available on digital platforms and the video will be on Blas Cantó's official YouTube channel. In addition, RTVE has planned for the first live performance of 'Universo' to be on the previous national selection process Operación Triunfo in the days after its release.

Blas Cantó was announced as the Spanish representative back in October after deciding to ditch their selection process of using Operación Triunfo after having poor results when using it, with Alfred & Amaia and Miki coming in and 23rd and 22nd in 2018 and 2019 respectively. This will be the first time Spain has internally selected their act since 2015.
