Norway | Melodi Grand Prix to reveal artists on January 6th

The Norwegian broadcaster NRK was suppose to announce the artists for this year's edition of Melodi Grand Prix on January 3rd. However, due to the sad passing of the former husband of Princess Märtha Louise, Ari Behn, they have decided to postpone the date of the announcement to January 6th instead.
This year's Melodi Grand Prix will consist of 5 heats and 1 final, starting on January 11th, taking place every Saturday until the final that takes place on February 15th at the Trondheim Spektrum, marking the 3rd time the contest being held outside of Oslo. In each heat, 4 acts from each of the regions in Norway will compete for 1 space and to join 5 pre-qualified acts in the final.
Melodi Grand Prix has been Norway's method of selecting their representative since 1960 apart from 1991 and the years they did not participate in Eurovision. Last year Keiino won the ticket to represent Norway in Tel Aviv last May. They qualified for the final and came in 6th place overall with 331 points.
