Eurovision 2020 l Austria selects Vincent Bueno for Rotterdam

Austrian broadcaster ORF have chosen Vincent Bueno as the artist to represent them at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam. The 34 year-old from Vienna will be competing for a spot in the final with the song "Alive", which is expected to be released in March.
He shares his thoughts about participating: "Wow, even thinking about the fact that I am going to participate in the song contest gives me goosebumps. The Eurovision Song Contest is like the Eurocup for musicians and singers. The huge stage, all those artists doing their absolute best, all the songwriters and producers of Europe gathering in one place to celebrate their work while at the same time stepping into the ring – it is breathtaking and formidable. Let’s go Austria!"
Bueno says Alive is about reconnecting with his identity, breaking free of the pressures of "the fast-paced confirmation of social media". He says it tells the story about learning to be who he wants to be.
While it will be his first time as a lead artist at Eurovision, Bueno was previously a back-up singer for Nathan Trent, who competed for Austria at the 2017 contest in Kiev. His song, "Running on Air", made it to the final, finishing in 16th place. Bueno also produced "Aire", the Spanish version of Trent's Eurovision song.
