Eurovision 2020 | Victoria Georgieva to represent Bulgaria

November 25, 2019

After spending a year away from the Eurovision Song Contest due to financial difficulties, Bulgaria will be back at the contest in 2020 and have chosen Victoria Georgieva to fly the Bulgarian flag in Rotterdam.

Bulgarian broadcaster BNT also revealed their production partners and explained their new focus regarding the contest. On BNT's official instagram, they said:

"This project is realised as a public-private partnership between BNT and Ligna Group."

The broadcaster also announced that Victoria's song will be released in the beginning of March.

Who is Victoria Georgieva?

Her claim to fame was by participating in the third season of X Factor Bulgaria, which likens her to many former Eurovision participants who were known for being in the reality contest show beforehand.

Whilst talking about her excitement to represent Bulgaria in Rotterdam, this is what she had to say:

"I am privileged to be able to make music that I believe in and to have the freedom to be who I am. Being the Bulgarian ambassador on such a huge stage is a big responsibility, as the Eurovision Song Contest matters to so many people in Bulgaria."
