Italy l Nicola Caligiore leaves RAI and Italian Delegation at Eurovision

According to Italian website Eurofestival News, Nicola Caligiore resigned from Italian broadcaster RAI for a new and important professional adventure abroad. Therefore, Caligiore is leaving his role as Head of Delegation for Italy at Eurovision, Junior Eurovision, and his position on the EBU Reference Group.
This news has saddened Italian Eurovision community. Italy came back to Eurovision and Junior Eurovision thanks to Caligiore and, under his leadership since 2011, until this year, the country has become a constant source of success at the contest.
Out of their nine participations at Eurovision this decade, Italy has reached the Top 10 on seven occasions. In 2015, Italy was a bronze medalist when Il Volo finished in 3rd place. In 2011 and in 2019, Italy were the runners-up.
We also highlight his work at Junior Eurovision, where Italy won on their first participation in 2014, achieved third place in 2016, and got another top 10 finish in 2018.
In addition to this, thanks to his work giving visibility to Eurovision with promotion, the Eurovision fan community in Italy has grown.
Junior Eurovision 2019 will be the last time we will see Nicola Caligiore as Italian Head of Delegation. The person who will take over his position for Eurovision & Junior Eurovision 2020 will be announced soon.
