Junior Eurovision 2019 | Anna Kearney will represent Ireland in Gliwice

Anna Kearney will represent Ireland at Junior Eurovision 2019 with her song "Banshee", which you can listen to below.

A total of three participants took part in 'Junior Eurovision Éire', with each of them singing two songs - one song which they had previously performed in the show an Irish Eurovision winning song.

Anna Kearney sang "Symphony" and "Why Me" (1992); Orla McDermott sang "Linger" and "Rock n Roll Kids (1994) whilst Savannah Phoenix-Munroe sang "Circle of Life" and "Hold Me Now" (1987).

Once all they had all performed, the judges chose Anna and Savannah to advance to the sing-off, where Anna was crowned victorious after receiving votes from three out of the four jury members.

The jury consisted of Gráinne Bleasdale, who returned to the judging panel for a second year running, and Chris Greene, a radio presenter. They were both joined by guest judges Linda Martin and Fiachna Ó Braonáin, a Guitarist and Singer in the band 'Hothouse Flowers'.

Anna's performance in Gliwice will mark Ireland's fifth participation in Junior Eurovision. Ireland made their Junior Eurovision debut in Bulgaria in 2015 with "Réalta na mara" sung by Aimee Banks, who finished in 12th place. Zena Donnelly finished in 10th place with "Bríce ar bhríce" in 2016. Both Muireann McDonnell and Taylor Hynes finished in 15th place in 2017 and 2018 respectively.
