Eurovision 2020 | Hooverphonic will sing for Belgium in Rotterdam

It has been announced that Hooverphonic will represent Belgium at Eurovision 2020 in Rotterdam. This marks the fourth year in a row that the Belgian representative has been chosen internally.

Hooverphonic is a Belgian band that was formed in 1995. They released their first album in 1996, and have since gone on to release nine more albums, with the most recent in 2018. Their sound can be described as a mixture of alternative, electronica, electropop and rock. Hooverphonic will be the first band to sing for Belgium since Witloof Bay in 2011.

Belgium has had a lot of Eurovision success in more recent years, making the top 10 in 2016 and the top 5 in 2015 and 2017. However, Sennek in 2018 and Eliot in 2019 were unable to replicate this success, with both of them failing to qualify from the semi final. Will X be able turn Belgium's fortunes around again?

Check our interview with this year's Belgian representative, Eliot, in Tel Aviv:
