Ireland | RTÉ begin call for songs and artists to compete in Eurovision 2020

Irish broadcaster RTÉ announced today that they have begun their call for songs and artists to represent Ireland in Rotterdam next May.
For songwriters and artists to be eligible, you must have a proven track record and already be established in the industry. The hopeful entries that the RTÉ receive from songwriters will be considered and viewed by a panel of industry experts.
In terms of artists, they are looking for someone already established who 'wish to showcase their talents to a global audience', according to the official Eurovision website. The Irish broadcaster went on to say that confidence and attitude are 'definite advantages' in regards to being selected. The closing date for the submissions to RTÉ is 17:00 (WET), Friday 25th October 2019.
The decision follows Ireland's last place finish in the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest and a string of disappointing results in prior years.
