Last month Australian broadcaster SBS announced the return of the National final Australia decides. In a press release made by SBS, it was announced song submissions are open until Monday the 30th of September at 23:59 pm. You can be part of the selection process by submitting your entry at sbs.com.au/eurovision.
John Marin, the commissioning editor of enterprise at SBS has said:
“We have some exciting and surprising artists waiting in the wings, ready for the right song and this is the last chance for songwriters to submit an original composition. Australia is home to so many talented artists and songwriters, and SBS is proud to be able to provide this new international platform for the country’s incredibly creative and diverse music community.”
Australia Decides creative director Paul Clarke went on to say:
“One of the thrills for the year is hearing new songs come in to the SBS song portal. We are beginning to plan our show around them.
“One note to songwriters in this final week: this year feels like we have a lot of strong ballads - we are really looking for up-tempo songs to balance, so please, hit us with your dance bangers!”
Joel Creasey and Myf Warhust have been announced as the hosts of the show, which will once again be hosted on Gold Coast, on Saturday 8th February. Early bird tickets for the show are available at https://premier.ticketek.com.au/shows/show.aspx?sh=EUROVISI20
