ESC 2020 | Daniël Dekker quits Eurovision selection committee

Daniël Dekker, who has been a part of the Dutch Eurovision team since the early 1990's announced on his Facebook yesterday that he would step away from the selection committee after 10 great years of commitment.

On his Facebook, the radio DJ announced he would no longer be part of the Dutch selection committee. He wrote in his announcement:

'After 10 years of pleasure, passion, music, friendship and above all results I conclude my involvement with the Eurovision Song Contest. I have been able to do and experience a lot. From radio broadcasts to television commentary, from selection to organisation. From the very last to the very first. A great adventure to remember. With great thanks and love love for everyone who was really there. I am going to miss you.'

A spokesperson from AVROTROS commented further, saying:

'We are looking for someone who, like Daniël, is close to the artists. With him, of course, we lose the one with the most music knowledge in the committee.'
