ESC 2020 | Eurovision 2020 will be held in Rotterdam!



After a close race, it has been announced that Eurovision 2020 will be hosted in the city of Rotterdam! In a short 2 minute broadcast the 3 Dutch organising broadcasters announced the Ahoy Rotterdam would host the enormous event.


In the beginning of August, after an earlier announcement of 2 cities (Rotterdam and Maastricht) remaining to host the event, it was announced that the host city would be revealed on August 30th.


The two semi finals will be held on the 12 & 14 of May and the final will be held on Saturday 16th of May.

Rotterdam is a city located in the province of South Holland and is home to around 633,000 people. The city is the largest port city in Europe, having shipped in around 469 million tonnes of goods in 2018. Ahoy Rotterdam was built in 1970 and has taken its design on Rotterdam's shipping industry. The venue has previously hosted a Eurovision event, having hosted the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2007.
