Israel | Changes made to Eurovision 2020 selection

It's been just over two months since Israel hosted Eurovision 2019, and they are already looking ahead to Eurovision 2020 in The Netherlands!
The Israeli broadcaster, KAN, have revealed details of their national selection for Eurovision 2020, which includes some changes. For the fifth year running, they will be using HaKokhav HaBa L'Eurovizion (Rising Star), organised by Israeli broadcaster Reshet, to select their singer for Eurovision 2020. However, due to criticism of the current format, in which their Eurovision song is internally selected, their song for Eurovision 2020 will be selected in a separate live show, organised by KAN.
KAN and Reshet have already started working together for their Eurovision 2020 selection, and they are expected to make a call for singers to audition for HaKokhav HaBa L'Eurovizion in the coming week.
Israel has been using HaKokhav HaBa to select their act for Eurovision since 2015, and they have had varying success over the years. They have qualified to the grand final every year, with their best result coming in 2018 when Netta brought Israel their fourth Eurovision victory.
