Australia | Kate Miller-Heidke releases new song

Eurovision 2019 contestant Kate Miller-Heidke has released a new song roughly a week before the contest starts. The song is called 'Ernie', her own son's name. It's an emotional balled quite different from her eurovision song 'Zero Gravity' which shows her incredible music range. The song really tells an emotional story, a story about pregnancy, giving birth and mothership and how rewarding it all is. Therefore she dedicated this song to all mothers as a present for Mother's day.

In an Instagram post about the song Kate says:

"Having a kid for the first time is an incredible rush of emotions. There’s elation, despair, gratitude, guilt, sorrow, hilarity and love. Ernie’s father and I wrote the song about that onslaught of often contradictory feelings. One minute you are the verge of collapse. Immediately afterwards you’re weeping tears of joy. It’s a very concentrated experience, and it’s completely relentless. In the middle of it all is the child, this living, breathing miracle. You keep pinching yourself. All the things they tell you about having a kid are true, but nothing can ever prepare you for it (which of course, they tell you too)"

37 year old singer from Brisbane Kate Miller-Heidke will represent Australia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with her song 'Zero Gravity'. She will be performing 12th in the First semi-final on May 14th 2019.
