ESC 2019 | More details about Will Ferrell's Eurovision film revealed!


More details about Will Ferrell's proposed idea to make a Eurovision film for Netflix have been revealed. It has been rumoured by Dateline, an American television news show, that popular American actress, Rachel McAdams, who has appeared in films such as Mean Girls, The Notebook and The Time Travellers Wife will be making an appearance in the film.

As of yet, no other details of the movie have been revealed yet, other than the title, which will simply just, be "Eurovision".


It has been reported that Will Ferrell will be travelling to Tel Aviv to continue working on his film, and there are rumours that he may even make an appearance on stage during one of the semi finals. He was also present at Eurovision 2018 in Lisbon.


Will Ferrell first mentioned his idea to write and produce a Eurovision-related film last year, alongside American write and producer, Andrew Steele, after last years contest. Will Ferrell will also be working with Jessica Elbaum as his co-producer, Adam McKay as Executive Producer and as Director.


Will Ferrell, who is self-confessed Eurovision fan, has mentioned that his love affair with the contest began all the way back in 1999, when he went to his cousins house with his Swedish wife and ended up watching the contest. He says that "since then, I continue to follow this music contest that I find really interesting. It's often eccentric and original."
