Last up before the break for lunch is Switzerland! Despite being the home of Eurovision, Switzerland's track record of the past decade has been absolutely awful. Since 2007 they have qualified twice (2011 and 2014) and on one of these occasions they placed last. After several years of a national selection show failing to help them qualify, the Swiss broadcasters teamed up for an internal selection. The result ... young pop perormer and heartthrob Luca Hänni and his catchy uptempo 'She Got Me' who is already one of the favourites to win the whole thing.

Luca burst on to the scene in 2012 when he auditioned for German talent show 'Deutschland sucht den Superstar'. Giving up his career as a bricklayer, the gamble paid off as Luca went on to win the competition becoming the first non-German to do so winning a recording contract with Universal Music Group. Since then, he's released four albums and dozens of singles which have seen commercial success in Switzerland, Germany & Austria.

SWITZERLAND - FIRST REHEARSAL

For the start of the song, Luca is alone on the stage under a spotlight. The backing is very red. In the lead up to the first chorus, four backing dancers come on stage (2 guys, 2 girls) and then for the first chorus they all do the choreography. All of the dancers are dressed in red whilst Luca is in a black vest-top and matching trousers. Fans will be glad to hear that he has his guns out, similarly to Imri Ziv's top back in 2017 for Israel. It'll be interesting to see if this is the 'final' outfit or whether he'll be trying on the red suit from the music video during the second rehearsal.

At Eurovision in Concert, Luca came under fire for his vocals due to how much he danced along however it does look like they've taken note. Whilst he does get involved - particularly in the chorus - for the rest of the song he is a lot more static, or smaller movements whilst the backing dancers go for it a lot harder.

Due to the set-up of the song and the style of choreography, we won't be surprised if this gets quite a few comparisons to 'Fuego'. There's no faulting Luca's charisma and stage presence and we'd also be VERY shocked if this doesn't take Switzerland back to the final and potentially even get their best result for a long time.

Switzerland's second rehearsal will take place on Friday 10th May and they will be performing fourth in the second semi final on Thursday 16th May.
