The preparations for the Azeri broadcaster are in full swing, as the first rehearsal took place in Kyiv last week that saw Alex Payani return as vocal coach for the country.
This year the country had opted to go internal once again, after the channel iTV announced that four singer were shortlisted to represent the country. They were Chingiz, Samira Efendi, Tofig Hajiyev, and Leman.
Chingiz was chosen after already becoming an established singer in his homeland, after winning Yeni Ulduz in 2007. He was only 16. He can now add the Eurovision to his long list of accolades.
It is hoped that the country will be able to reverse its fortune after failing to qualify last year. Aisel with her song, "X My Heart" failed to secure enough votes for a qualification that saw the country languish in the semi finals for the first time ever. Can Chingiz reverse this fortune?
