Netherlands | 'This Is Amsterdam Calling - Are You There'?

This weekend will be a busy one for the city of Amsterdam, as the whole of Europe descends on the wonderful capital to celebrate one of the biggest pre parties on the circuit- Eurovision in Concert 2019 which will be held in the AFAS Live on the Saturday 6th April. Everyone needs a warm up, and there is no better way than, "Amsterdam Calling 2019".

Tonight, our good friends at OGAE NL, which is the Dutch Eurovision fan club, have once again, for the fifth year organised this event where former Eurovision performers will sing to the many fans of the contest, who have come to enjoy everything Eurovision.

The artists will perform their own Eurovison entries, as well as other classics . Even after all have performed there will be DJ's on hand who will ensure you dance the night away with catchy, and surprising Eurovision beats. This year. OGAE Netherlands have surpassed themselves, by bringing us eight former participants, from yesteryear, and from more recent contests. Tonight's show will see the following artists perform.

Linda Martin

Linda Martin has sung at the Eurovision Song Contest twice for Ireland. She first entered with the song, "Terminal 3" in 1984 coming second that year, only losing out to first by 8 points. She would try again a few years later in 1992 with, "Why Me?", giving Ireland their 4th victory at the contest.

Surie

Last year the United Kingdom was represented by SuRie and her song "Storm". It did not win, however, it has become an evergreen of the contest, and is one entry that fans just love to sing.

Hera Björk

Hera Björk is the pride of Iceland, and represented her home nation back in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 with the song "Je ne sais quoi" which became very popular all over Europe, a huge hit among the fans, and is still among the fans favourite Eurovision songs. She has also tried to represent Denmark with "Someday" in 2009, and was also present in Iceland's national final this year with, "Moving On".

IMRI

This year Israel will be represented by IMRI who will be present in tonight's show. He represented his country back in 2017 with the song, "Feel Alive". Adter his performance, the audience are bound to feel alive.

Ryan O'Shaughnessy

Last year the pride of Ireland was Ryan O'Shaughnessy, who brought the country to the first grand final since 2013. His song, "Together" was loved, and had a message that struck a chord with many. He also appeared as 'Dad' in the video of last year's Junior Eurovsion entry "IOU", sung by Taylor Hynes. He will be the second Irish singer at this year's event.

Ronnie Tober

Ronnie Tober represented the Netherlands back in 1968 with the song, "Morgen" (Tomorrow). It placed 16th that year. We are sure one of the biggest applause of the night will go to him.

Eye-Cue

North Macedonia were represent by Eye-Cue last year who narrowly missed out on a place in the grand final with the song. "Lost and Found". They have 'found' their way to Amsterdam tonight.

Laura Vlasblom

This year's show will be hosted by Frizzle Sizzle's Laura Vlasblom. Unfortunately due to ill health Marga Bult had to pull out at the last moment.

Unfortunately all tickets for the show are sold out, just proving how popular this event is.
