The Netherlands | Junior Sonfestival 2019 Has 50 Potential Singers Shortlisted For Competition

According to the news website Zapp.nl . There have been a total of 50 singers that have been shortlisted as potential artists for the Junior Eurovision 2019 to be held in Poland. The singers will all take part in auditions for Junior Songfestival 2019, to find the next competitor.

The search for the next star or stars are well underway after AVROTROS put out a call for singers earlier in the year with the deadline for submissions ending on the 15th March 2019. The national broadcaster have shortlisted 50 artists, which will see them audition stage take place next month. The list of performers can be found here. Check out Max and Anne's entry "Samen" from last year below:

Details of how the artists or song will be chosen are a little vague at the present time, but the broadcaster over previous years have tended to flip between a televised national final, to an internal selection as they did in 2016. Despite being one of the only countries to have consistently been at every contest, the country last year saw a massive drop in viewers despite the countries good result. This was in complete contrast to most of Europe, that saw a big upshot in viewers with the Netherlands seeing the opposite to this.

Last year the country was represented by Max and Anne who were to sing "Samen". The song finished a respectable 13th place, scoring 91 points. They did better with the televote receiving 68 of them from the viewers at home. Check out Jess reacts below:
