Isreal were one of the last countries to select their song for this years up and coming contest.  Kobi Marimi was chosen, and the song "Home" has been presented as his entry.  It has been revealed that five backing vocalists will join him when he sings his song to a home crowd.

The five singers who are all in their mid to late twenties are as follows:

  • Ofree Israeli (27) – Singer and composer, he works with bands and vocal groups across Israel

  • Yossi Mark (23) – Lyricist, composer and singer, he has been singing since the age of 10

  • Lera Axelrod (26) – Originally from Uzbekistan, she is a music producer and singer

  • Liron Nathan Levo (28) – Singing since he was 14 years old

Once again Israel opted to find its singer using last year's successful format, "HaKokhav HaBa L'Eurovizion".   It has been one of the longest national finals, that started all the way back in November last year that has seen singers audition for the show.  Since then tens of heats, and semi finals led to Kobi winning the show on the 12th February 2019 with 102 points.  He was followed up by Shefita who came second scoring 90.  The song was chosen internally, with the singer now having the honour of representing his country on home soil.

Do you like the song?  Do you think Israel could do the double this year, and win the competition?  Please tell us your thoughts in the comments below.
