Ireland | Janet Devlin Confirms She Is Not Represented Ireland At Eurovision


Tomorrow will see Poland, and Ireland officially release their song, and artists for this year's Eurovision. For weeks now there have been rumours about Ireland, and who they will be sending to Tel Aviv.


Janet Devlin was the name that kept on popping up in regards to Ireland's rumoured artist. Even as late as yesterday the Irish Daily Mail reported that she would be the countries next representative. However, this is not true according to a video she has released on YouTube, which can be seen below:



She states in the video that she would be representing Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest from the comfort of her own front room. She was joking when making the comment. However, on a more serious note she admits she was pushed into making the video after she was contacted by lots of people, and the media. Janet even argues the case that you shouldn't always believe articles even in the come from a "reliable news source".


Janet is most famous for appearing on the eighth season of the X Factor UK, where she finished in fifth. However, the stars career certainly blossomed after this. She has released several successful singles, and albums, and now streams her music to her fans through digital platforms.


It looks like this rumour is over. However, in less than 24 hours the Irish broadcaster RTÉ will officially announce who will be the countries next act. Stay tuned to find out who it is.
