JESC19 | Gliwice-Silesia, Poland to Host the Contest


Back in December, it was confirmed that Poland would host the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019 after winning the contest in 2018. After several rumours and speculation, it was revealed today by the national broadcaster TVP and the EBU that Gliwice will be the host city for the 2019 contest at the Gliwice Arena. This will be the first time since 2014 where the contest wasn't held in the held in the host country. The city also managed to beat the bids of other larger cities such as Krakow, Gdansk and Lodz.

Gliwice is a city in the southern province of Silesia, and has a population of around 180,000 people.

The arena recently opened in May 2018 and has a capacity of around 17,000 people, making it one of the largest sports and entertainment facilities in the country,

This year's edition of the contest is to be held on Sunday 24th November. With the host city and the dates of the contest officially confirmed, as well as 7 countries already showing interest in participating in the contest, it is fair to say that the season of Junior Eurovision 2019 is starting to build up momentum, and we hope you are as excited as we are in joining this Eurovision journey!
