Ireland will be at Junior Eurovision 2019!

Dia duit an Pholainn! The Irish Language broadcaster, TG4 today announced on their Twitter page that Ireland will again appear at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. This will be the 5th participation of the Island nation, who will be hoping that they find their pot of gold in Poland this year, and take their first win at JESC.
It's not yet known if TG4 will opt for the usual National Final method of selecting their song. something that they have used since their 2015 debut ( Junior Eurovision Éire), or chose the internal route. The song will be sung in Irish Gaelic, something it has always done since 2015.
The contest is viewed in Ireland as a great medium to promote the language to a younger audience, not only in Ireland, but to all of Europe and indeed Australia.
While we wait for more details of Ireland's participation in Poland for JESC 2019, why not take a look at the Eurovoxx interview with 2017 Irish representative, talented young star Muireann McDonnell?
Last year, Ireland sent Taylor Hynes to Minsk Belarus with "IOU", although it was highly regarded it ended the contest coming 15th place, with 48 points.
