Latvia | Carousel wins Supernova 2019 with their song 'That Night'

Tonight has seen a further four countries selecting their songs, and artist for the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv. This evening, two of the three Baltic nations, Estonia, and Latvia have chosen their participants for Israel. Tonight, Latvia have chosen Carousel with the song "That Night".
The country has opted to use "Supernova" once again to determine their artist for Eurovision 2019. The show which came live from Riga has seen 8 artists compete for their right to represent Latvia at the Eurovision Song Contest. They had come directly from their semi finals which they had won.
This was the fifth year that the broadcaster LTV has used Supernova for the selection process. Two semi finals held on the 26th January 2019, and the 2nd February 2019 have all culminated in this evenings results. An initial 16 songs were narrowed down to this evenings 8 finalists (4 from each semi final). The eight songs that competed were:
Markus Riva – You make me so crazy
Edgars Kreilis – Cherry Absinthe
Aivo Oskis – Somebody’s got my lover
Double Faced Eels – Fire
Dziļi Violets feat. Kozmens – Tautasdziesma
Laime pilnīga – Awe
Samanta Tīna – Cutting the wire
Carousel – That Night
The result was decided by a multiple of factors that saw juries, televoters, internet and Spotify streams all determine Carousel as the winner of tonight's show. Markus Riva was runner-up with his song "You Make Me So Crazy".
