Sweden | Jon Henrik Fjällgren And Lina Hedlund Qualify For Melodifestivalen 2019 Final

February 16, 2019

Tonight, Europe's most popular national final, Melodifestivalen continued it's search to find Sweden's next Eurovision star.  Just like last week the show continued in spectacular style as the second semi final came live from the Tegera Arena in Leksand. Jon Henrik Fjällgren with the song "Norrsken", and Lina Hedlund with the song "Victorious" both qualified for the final to be held on the 9th March 2019.  The show also saw Martin Stenmarck with the song "Låt skiten brinna" , and Rebecka Karlsson with the song"Who I Am" go forward to the second chance round (Andra Chansen).

The second semi final saw seven artists compete.  They were:

1) The Lovers of Valdaro- "Somebody Wants"

2) Dolly Style -"Habibi"

3) Martin Stenmarck- "Låt skiten brinna"

4) Lina Hedlund- "Victorious"

5) Omar- "Om igen"

6) Rebecka Karlsson- "Who I Am"

7) Jon Henrik Fjällgren- "Norrsken"

Tonight's show had several former Melodifestivalen artists return, including former winner Martin Stenmarck who represented Sweden back in 2005.  Also present is Lina Hedlund who was part of Alcazar who also competed at Melodifestivalen on numerous occasions.

The artists already making it to the final on the 9th March 2019 are:

Wiktoria - "Not With Me"

Mohombi- "Hello"

Malou Pritz - "I Do Me"

Hanna Ferm & LIAMOO- "Hold You"

Jon Henrik Fjällgren- "Norrsken"

Lina Hedlund- "Victorious"

The artists that have proceeded to the second chance round are:

Nano - "Chasing Rivers"

Anna Bergendahl - "Ashes To Ashes"

Andreas Johnson - "Army Of Us"

Vald Reiser - "Nakna i Regnet"

Martin Stenmarck- "Låt skiten brinna"

Rebecka Karlsson- "Who I Am"

The show was broadcast live from the Tegera Arena in Leksand, and was hosted once again by Sarah Dawn Finer, Kodjo Akolor, Marika Carlsson and Eric Saade.  Last week A total of 6,993,333 votes were cast throughout the show with a total of 522,183 SEK collected for Radiohjälpen.  A slight dip on the number of votes cast the week before, however can a new record be broken this evening?

There is a long way to go for Sweden to chose their entry.  They still have one more semi final, a second chance round, and a grand final.  The order of shows will be:

Semi-final 4- 23 February 2019

Second chance round - 2 March 2019

Final-  9 March 2019
