United Kingdom | Scott Mills To Host Weekly Eurovision Podcast



This is the United Kingdom calling. In just over a day it will be, as the nation will decide who they want to be their next Eurovision star. Two days ago it was announced who would be the three judges that will give their verdict on this years six hopefuls. Today, however, it was announced by the BBC that Scott Mills is set to host a new weekly Eurovision Podcast available via BBC Sounds.


The Podcast which went live today will feature special guests that will discuss the latest gossip, and secrets from behind the scenes of this years competition. Each one will be released weekly in the run up to the contest, which will also allow fans to also get involved by @bbceurovision on Twitter. Today, he is joined by Jade Adams.

Scott Mills is no stranger to the show or the contest, having being a regular presenter of the Eurovision semi finals for a number of years. His co-host may have changed several times, but he has stayed the same. This year 'Eurovision- You Decide' will be broadcast live from Salford in Manchester. It will see six artists sing variations of three songs. Two artists will sing the same song, all vying for the United Kingdom's Eurovision crown.


The show will be hosted my Mel Giedroyc and Måns Zelmerlöw. They will be joined by the expert panel that will consist of Rylan, Martin Humes, and Mollie King (more information on them can be found here). They will determine which three artists should go to the final vote. It will then be up to the public to decide which song they want to represent them in Tel Aviv. The three songs are, "Bigger Than Us", "Sweet Lies" and "Freaks".


It has also be revealed that last years, 'Eurovision- You Decide' winner, "SuRie" will reprise her winning song, "Storm" that placed 24th in the Grand Final in Lisbon last year.
