Georgia | Eight Singers remain in contention to represent Georgia
This year Georgia have opted for a new selection method after last years internal selection did not pay off. The Georgian representative for the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest will be the winner of 'Georgian Idol'. Auditions started to air earlier this month and the competition has already been whittled down to a Top 8 who will all now perform in the live finals to win the show and get to compete in Tel Aviv for Georgia.

The final for Georgian Idol is set for March 2nd where we will discover who will be crowned the Georgian Idol winner and 2019 Eurovision participant! Earlier today, Georgia drew second half of the first semi final in the semi final allocation draw.
In 2018, ethno-jazz band Iriao competed in Lisbon with 'For You' however was unable to qualify out of the semi final. They placed last in the semi final - 18th - with 24 points. Georgia last qualified in 2016 with Nika Kocharov & Young Georgian Lolitaz who placed 20th in the final with 'Midnight Gold', securing 104 points.
