Latvia | Supernova Semi-Final One Kicks Off As Four Artists Qualify

Tonight saw the second Baltic nation begin it's search for its next Eurovision entrant. This evening Latvia held it's first Eurovision semi final, in the countries popular national final, 'Supernova'. Eight artists competed for four places in the countries final.
The artists competing were as follows:
1. Kris & Oz – “Midnight Streets”
2. Alekss Silvērs – “Fireworks”
3. Līga Rīdere – “Būšu tepat”
4. Laime Pilnīga – “Awe”
5. Edgars Kreilis – “Cherry Absinthe”
6. Elza Rozentāle – “You Came on Tiptoe”
7. Aivo Oskis – “Somebody’s Got My Lover”
8. Samanta Tina – “Cutting The Wire”
The four qualifying artists were:
Samanta Tina – “Cutting The Wire”
Edgars Kreilis – “Cherry Absinthe”
Aivo Oskis – “Somebody’s Got My Lover”
Laime Pilnīga – “Awe”
The results were decided by a professional jury along with the voting public who both had an equal 50% say on who should proceed to the final. The public could vote by phone call, text, and vote via the Supernova website to decide their favourite.
Next week will see Latvia hold its second semi final that will see a further four artists proceed to the final of 'Supernova' on the 16th February 2019.
