JESC 2019 | Will France Be Heading For Another Internal At Junior Eurovision?
It was a year of new beginnings for France back in 2018 in the world of Eurovision. Firstly, they came back to Junior Eurovision after a fourteen year break, but they also changed their Head of Delegation. Steven Clerima was chosen, and has proven extremely successful. France came second in Minsk, Belarus, and 'Destination Eurovision' looks extremely promising in finding a new star for Eurovision in May.
In an interview with Tele Loisirs he has stated that he would not like to rule anything out, but that it is very likely that a televised national selection is unlikely. After the success of Angelina last year, why change a nearly winning formula?
Speaking before tonight's 'Destination Euroviision' final, he clarified that making Eurovision was more than just an event in May, but wants to make it an event in France that everyone would enjoy throughout the whole year. Steven seems extremely knowledgeable about other nations, and compares France's success to Spain. If Isobel won in 2004, surely it is France's time?
Mr Clermia said about Angelina this year,
"I would dream that in four years, when she will be 16 years old. Angélina participates in 'Destination Eurovision' and why not Eurovision... The Eurovision Junior is also a way to rejuvenate Eurovision itself. We realise the enthusiasm of young audiences on social networks for this brand, while it was considered unattractive in previous years".

The national broadcaster for France 2 have confirmed that they will be present in Poland this year, and in this interview the Head of Delegation states that, "I would dream that we reach the 25 participating countries", but also expressed his desire to see the United Kingdom back in the contest, which would mean Wales could not compete.
The changes in France seem to have been very positive, which is reflected in their results. How would you like to see France select it's next Junior Eurovision entry? Who would you like to see represent the country. Please tell us your thoughts in the comments below.
