JESC 2019 | Krakow Chosen As Host City For The Junior Eurovision 2019

The wait seems to be finally over, as it looks like Krakow has been chosen as the host city for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Poland. After Roksana won the crown in Minsk last November, all eyes have been on Poland, with a number of cities being considered to host the event.

According to our friends at 'Dziennik Eurowizyjny' a news broadcast on the TVP info channel played a previous interview from Noel Curran who is currently the director general for the EBU in which he is quoted as saying,

"This competition is growing year by year in terms of audience and number of participants, but also for quality. This is a very important event. We are constantly wondering how to attract young customers, and here we have a platform through which we can gain millions, and even tens of millions of young recipients all over Europe. This is a fantastic event that will take place in Krakow, and i cannot wait... I will definitely be there."

This information has not been officially announced by the executive supervisor of the EBU, Jon Ola Sand, nor high officials from Krakow. Whether it was an accidental slip it is not known. However, after the news was released yesterday, it can be assumed that the official announcement will come soon.

No further details of the venue has been given. However, as soon as Poland accepted the challenge of hosting, it was made pretty clear that the countries capital would be very unlikely to host the event as it did not have stadiums that were of sufficient size.

The city itself is the countries second largest city, and based in the south of Poland. It is expected that if the news is confirmed by the EBU, it will be the Tauron Arena that will host.

No further news has been given at the moment, Please stay tuned.
