They were put together on X Factor Malta Bootcamp, survived the Six Chair Challenge, but newly formed boy band SYSTM 12 have wasted no time in releasing their Six Chair Challenge cover version of 'Youngblood' in a fully fledged studio version.
The group made up of Kyle Cutajar, Josef Tabone & Dario Mifsud Bonnici performed the song, originally performed by Australian band 5 Seconds Of Summer, in a bid to get a seat and advance to the final six groups and onto Judges' Houses, with that secured and as we eagerly await to see if they make it to the live shows, the boys have decided to treat us with a studio version of the song. It, as in the Six Chair Challenge shows of the trio's strengths, in solo segments as well as a united voice with Kyle taking the lower notes of the song and Josef and Dario hitting the higher range and notes.
SYSTM 12 received high praise for their song choice and performance from the judges and mentor Alexandra Alden and even had Ira Losco singing and dancing along in her seat during the performance! Not bad going for a group who as fore-mentioned, were put together in the latter stages of Bootcamp after the three were deemed to have reached their limit as soloists in the competition, but they have taken this second choice as a group and clearly ran with it! We don't know what is in store for them at Judges' Houses but were surely hope this competition is the only instance we see of these three working together, as we are certainly fans! X Factor Malta is in its debut season, with it replacing long standing selection show Malta Eurovision Song Contest, with the winning act being the act which shall represent Malta in Tel Aviv in 2019.
