JESC 2019 | Poland will host Junior Eurovision 2019

The EBU alongside Polish broadcaster TVP have announced today that Poland will be hosting The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019. This will be the first time that Poland has hosted any Eurovision event, after Roksana Węgiel brought Poland their first ever victory in a Eurovision event.

Jon Ola Sand had this to say:

"We are delighted to announce Poland as our host country, and TVP as our host broadcaster for The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019, and once again congratulate Roksana Węgiel on her spectacular winning performance at this year's contest.

It is always exciting to bring the event to a new host country for the first time, and we look forward to seeing TVP's vision for The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019 come to life over the forthcoming year."

At present, it is unknown where exactly the contest will take place; however, Jarosław Gonciarz, the MP of Gliwice, a city in Southern Poland, has put in a bid for his city to host the contest, saying:

"The city of Gliwice has a modern, recently built show and sports hall with a total capacity of 17,000 seats. Arena Gliwice. Arena Gliwice is one of the most modern facilities in our country. It's location guarantees free access from anywhere in the country. On behalf of myself and residents, I am asking you to take Arena Gliwice into consideration as a place for organising next year's Junior Eurovision."
