France | Destination Eurovision 2019 Competitors Revealed

French broadcaster France 2 (F2) first started to tease news earlier this week when the names of the three judging panel members were revealed as Christophe Willem, André Manoukian and VITAA. Now we have even more reason to be excited - the eighteen singers who will be competing at French Eurovision 2019 national selection 'Destination Eurovision' have been announced and wow it's a great selection!

We've attached a clip where possible of what we can maybe expect from each artist so check out the eighteen participants in 'Destination Eurovision' and the titles of their songs here:

In addition we also learned some more about the format - there'll be 3 shows, which unlike in 2018 will all be televised live meaning no results will be leaked ahead of time - and the public will gain 50% of the final decision. Another change is that the three members of the judging panel will not be scoring the acts. On December 20th, 90 second previews of each song will be released.

France first made their return to a National Final this year, where Madame Monsieur won 'Destination Eurovision 2018' and took their heartfelt ballad 'Mercy' to Lisbon where it came 13th in the final out of 26, scoring 173 points. Madame Monsieur actually penned the track 'Roi' for participant Bilal Hassani too so we can't wait to hear that! We loved 'Mercy' here at #TeamEurovoxx and we know many of you did too! Have you checked out our blue carpet interview with the duo?

Earlier this year it was confirmed that Head of Delegation since 2016 Edoardo Grassi would be leaving and new blood in Steven Clerima would be taking over and if his input on France's return to Junior Eurovision last month was anything to go by - we are VERY excited to see what he will bring to the Eurovision stage! France had a successful return, placing 2nd overall with Angélina and her song 'Jamais sans toi' which was a great song executed on stage fantastically and was very deserving of its result. Now that Clerima is also going to be working on the Eurovision Song Contest it will definitely be interesting to see how his influences will shape France's journey and performance in Tel Aviv.
