JESC 2018 | Viewing figures revealed across Europe

As many countries across Europe have been revealing their viewing figures for The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018, let's have a look at them, and let's have a look at which countries are up, which countries are down and which countries have stayed the same.
Belarus
Belorussian Broadcaster BTRC have revealed that a total of 1,385,000 viewers tuned in to The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018 on home soil, making it the most watched programme on Sunday and giving it a market share of 15.2%.
However, it is worth noting that this figure is based on people watching the contest who are over the age of 4 and living in urban areas of Belarus. If we take into consideration the number of people living in rural areas who might have been watching, the viewing figures could potentially increase by up to 305,000.
France
A total of 1.16 million people tuned in to television channel France 2 to watch Angélina bring France their best result in any Eurovision event since Amina in Eurovision 1991. The contest recorded an audience share of 8.4%, which is the average for that time slot.
Israel
Israeli broadcaster KAN have revealed that a total of 21,000 viewers tuned in to Junior Eurovision 2018 on children's channel KAN Educational, which is a decline of 12,000 viewers since Israel's last Junior Eurovision participation in 2016.
Italy
Italy have recorded a decline of less than 35,000 viewers for Junior Eurovision 2018, making it the fifth year in a row that viewing figures have declined. An average of 34,300 viewers tuned in to watch Marco and Melissa bring Italy another top 10 finish, with a peak of 78,900 during the voting, which gave them a market share of 0.21%.
When Italy made their Junior Eurovision debut in 2014, they had a more impressive 151,000 viewers, but they have been declining every year since, with 78,200 in 2015, 50,000 in 2016 and 37,000 in 2017.
Poland
A total of 2.2 million viewers tuned in to see Roksana Węgiel take Poland to victory for the second time in a Eurovision event, the first being The Eurovision Dance Contest in 2008.
The contest was initially broadcast on three separate channels: TVP ABC, which had 269,610 viewers and a market share 1.91%; TVP HD, with 85,140 viewers and market share of 0.69% and finally TVP Polonia which had 63,855 viewers and a market share of 0.44%.
Poland's main channel, TVP1 began to broadcast the contest only when it was announced that they had won.

The Netherlands
The Netherlands have recorded their lowest viewing figures for The Junior Eurovision Song Contest in their history of participation, with them having lost over 50,000 viewers compared with last year's contest in Georgia. A total of 226,000 viewers tuned in to NPO Zapp, giving them a market share of 1.4%.
Viewing figures in The Netherlands have been slowly declining since they hosted the contest in Amsterdam in 2012, with them losing around 600,000 viewers in total since then.
