The French language national broadcaster for Switzerland, RTS have announced today that they will be participating at next years Eurovision Choir of the Yea which will be held in Gothenburg Sweden on August 3rd 2019. This was shared by 'Eurovision FR'. This will be their first participation at the contest, that saw it's debut in Latvia in 2017.
The broadcaster also released details, stating that the choir will be found by a new television show entitled, "Chorus". The show will be held over three weeks, and feature twelve choirs. RTS are keen to get the show on the road that will see the first programme being held this weekend, in the hope of finding three finalists for the grand final to be held on December 1st 2018. Only three of six choirs will advance to the final. They are as follows:

S.C.A.T. The second show will be held on November 24th 2018, and see the following six choirscompete for the final three places. They are:

The choirs come from all different regions of Switzerland, with the age range varying quite considerably from each choir to the next. The musical genres will also be different, with there being twelve unique sounds. It has been revealed that the show will be hosted by Jonas Schneiter, with the choirs being judged by Alizé Oswald d’Aliose and Marc Aymon.
Six choirs will ultimately make up the grand final, with those progressing will be chosen from a 50% jury (names above) vote, whilst the other 50% will be decided by the public vote. The shows will be broadcast from Geneva.
So far Belgium, Switzerland, Romania and Wales have confirmed their participation. With the event taking place in Sweden, it is expected that they too will be present. Last year nine countries competed, that saw Slovenia win. Wales took second place, and hosts Latvia came third place. The show also saw Wales debut as an independent nation in an Eurovision event, which was to also happen at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest this year. The viewing figures were also very impressive for the show, which may mean that this competition has a very have a long life.
