This year a record breaking 20 countries will be taking part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Minsk, Belarus on the 25th November 2018. With around two weeks to go until the competition, Eurovoxx will introduce you to each artist, and give a little insight to the country they will be representing. Today's installment comes from F.Y.R. Macedonia who will be represented by Marija Spasovska.
Who Is Marija Spasovska?
Marija Spasovska is a Macedonian singer who was born in the nations capital Skopje on the 5th October 2005. She is thirteen years old. She will sing the song,"Doma" written by Darko Dimitrov and Elena Risteska. Although young, her talents began at a very early age, as she started singing at the age of 4. When it comes to music she is very experienced, as she has won over twenty awards. Marija is well known as a result of this, and has appeared in quite a wide variety of competitions, and performed both nationally, and internationally. In 2017 she she performed at Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk, Belarus, receiving much praise.
The talented singer has also appeared in the musical "My Secret" which was dedicated to Toše Proeski, who was a former Macedonian Eurovision entrant back in 2004, that sadly passed away in October 2007. On 30th May 2018 she released "Igraj so srce (Играј со срце; lit. Play the heart)", which charted relatively well. Her Junior Eurovision entry has only been released three weeks on YouTube, and amassed an impressive 85,000 hits. Could her song be the dark horse of the competition. Check it out below:

How Was Marija Spasovska Chosen?
This year the broadcaster for F.Y.R, Macedonia had opted to chose their singer internally. Marija's talents, and successes must have been a major factor in choosing her. Marija was revealed on the 18th August 2018, while the song, and it's official announcement was released over a month later on the 19th October 2018.

F.Y.R. Macedonia At Junior Eurovision Song Contest:
F.Y.R Macedonia were back there in the beginning, and competed at the very first edition. They were represented by Marija & Viktorija with the song, "Ti ne me poznavaš (Ти не ме познаваш)". They came 12th, scoring 19 points. The countries worst results came in 2006 with Zana Aliu song, "Vljubena (Вљубена)", came last with 14 points. This was to be repeated in 2013, when Barbara Popović's song, "Ohrid i muzika (Охрид и музика)" also came last scoring 19 points. This was to finally happen in 2015 when Ivana Petkovska & Magdalena Aleksovska's song "Pletenka - Braid of Love (Плетенка)" would also come last with 26 points. Their best results came in 2007 when Rosica Kulakova & Dimitar Stojmenovski " Ding Ding Dong (Динг Динг Донг)" came fifth scoring 111 points. This would happen a year later in 2008 when, Bobi Andonov's song,"Prati mi SMS (Прати ми СМС)" would also come 5th with 93 points. Their average position seems to be 12th, they have finished this position on 7 occasions. Can Marija Spasovska give the country another top five finish though?
