JESC 2018 | Official Video For Ireland's Junior Eurovision Entry 'I.O.U.' Released

On Sunday, it was officially announced by Éire through a televised national final that Taylor Hynes had won the right to represent Ireland at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest to be held on the 25th November 2018. Today, the broadcaster has released the official video to accompany the winning song, "I.O.U."
It was released by TG4 on their official YouTube channel, several hours ago and has amassed over 1000 views. The video has a very Eurovision feel, as it contains special guests Niamh Kavanagh playing Taylor's mum. She previously won for Ireland back in 1993, and represented the country again in 2010. It also, has this years Irish representative Ryan O'Shaughnessy in it too. He plays Taylor's Dad. Check the video out below:
Viewers of the video might be wondering how the video was made so quick? In actual fact Sunday's final was filmed in October, and Taylor has been known for a while. However, it was previously announced early last week by BRTC, that he had won, and leaked the information earlier than the team at Éire would have liked.
The song "I.O.U" was written by Taylor Hynes, Niall Mooney, and Jonas Gladnikoff, and this song will be Ireland's 4th Junior Eurovision entry. Their best result came in 2016 when Zena Donnelly sang "Bríce ar bhríce" coming tenth. This is also Tyler's second attempt at Junior Eurovision. Back in 2016 he tried to represent his country to no avail. However, this time he won it after being selected as wildcard for the final.
This year a record breaking twenty nations will compete in Minsk, which will include the return of Azerbaijan, Israel, and France. It also sees Kazakhstan, and Wales debut for the first time too. On the 25th November, we will find out who is Europe's best. Do you think it will be Taylor?
