This year a record breaking 20 countries will be taking part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Minsk, Belarus on the 25th November 2018. With around two weeks to go until the competition, Eurovoxx will introduce you to each artist, and give a little insight to the country they will be representing. Today's installment comes from Azerbaijan who will be represented by Fidan Huseynova.
Who Is Fidan Huseynova?
Although representing Azerbaiajan, Fidan Huseynova was born on 24th November 2005 in Moscow, and is twelve years old. She is a Russian singer, and will celebrate her 13th birthday in Minsk a day before the final. She is currently a 6th grade student at the Baku Oxford school. Her music career started back in 2014, and since then has become quite accomplished. She famously performed, "Je Suis Malade" together with Lara Fabian (who represented Luxembourg in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1988) in Baku in 2014. A year later she would do a duet with Fabien again in Turkey where they sang, "Je t'aime". She has also performed with Elnur who represented Azerbaijan back in 2008, and 2015.
The young singer has gone on to perform in many music competitions, even the Sanremo Junior Festival where she placed third, and has also performed in Vienna this year. Music is her passion. However, she is also a very accomplished chess player, having won several awards, and tournaments. There is more to this talented performer than singing. Her song "I Wanna Be Like You" was released in September, and since then it has amassed over 55,000 views. Check the song out below:

Eurovoxx Reacts To "I Wanna Be Like You"
Azerbaijan At The Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
The country was initially supposed to debut at the 2008 contest. However, due to a lack of candidates for the national selection, Azerbaijan pulled out of the contest. They would debut in 2013 with the song "Me and My Guitar" sung by Rustam Karimov. The song came 7th out of 12 nations, and scored 66 points. The country would then withdraw from the competition, only to return this year. This will be their second entry. Could this be a winning entry?
All the team at Eurovoxx would like to wish this young, talented singer a "uÄŸurlar"!!!! in Minsk.
