Russia | Philipp Kirkorov And Dimitris Kontopoulos To Team Up For Perfect Eurovision Entry?

Several days ago the European Broadcasting Union published the list of the 42 countries that will be competing at next years Eurovision, to be held in Tel Aviv. Despite not qualifying for the grand final last year for the first time, Russia still seem perfectly committed to the contest, and intends going "all out" in finding that perfect song for next year. Recently, Eurovoxx reported that VGTRK would be responsible for broadcasting, and finding the entry for Russia, who will take over from Channel One, who had that responsibility this year. They have stated that the business of Eurovision will commence in the new year. However, a recent Instagram post by Philipp Kirkorov seems to suggest that Russia have their dream team in place.
Dimitris Kontopoulos who is a very well respected, and well accomplished music composer, and producer, recently had his birthday recently, but it was a post by Kirkorov that seems to confirm that these two could be responsible for Russia's next representative. See post below:
As well as wishing him a happy birthday, Kirkorov writes, "I want to thank you for all your fantastic ideas, your talent that you share with me and help my artists.... in our Eurovision time. I can't wait for our next adventure in Israel. It will be great!". With these words, it is almost as if Philipp Kirkorov and Dimitris Kontopoulos will be the men behind a Eurovision entry, most probably Russia's.
When it comes to Eurovision, Kirkorov is prolific. He represented Russia at the contest back in 1995 with "Kolybelnaya dlya vulkana", subsequently finishing in 17th place. His former wife Alla Pugacheve would represent her home nation a year later. Since then he has composed many entries including Dmitry Koldun (Belarus 2007), Ani Lorak(Ukraine 2008), the Tolmachevy Twins (Russia 2014), Sergey Lazarev (Russia 2016), and DoReDos (Moldova 2018). He has also covered more than ten Eurovision, and national final songs over the years. Eurovision seems to be in his blood.
Over the years Greek song writer, and composer Dimitris Kontopoulos has also had his footing in Eurovision. Over the years he has composed 8 Eurovision entries. All, except Aisel's "X My Heart" have qualified for the grand final. He has composed entries for Belarus (2007), Ukraine (2008), Greece (2009 & 2017), Azerbaijan (2013 & 2018), Russia (2014 & 2016).
With both these Eurovision legends coming together once again, could they be unstoppable and give Russia a second Eurovision win? Tell us what you think in the comments below.
