Sweden | Melodifestivalen 2019 Rumours Heat Up

Ahead of the Melodifestivalen artist reveal, which usually takes place either at the end of November or in December, rumours of which performers will be taking part is usually a hot topic! We've seen a number of rumours already but today Swedish media site Aftonbladet has released more names that are being speculated as participants in next years competition.

New rumours released by Aftonbladet suggest that 2017 finalist Anton Hagman - who infamously beat 2012 Eurovision winner Loreen in the Andra Chansen round - will be looking to better his 10th place with 'Kiss You Goodbye'. Also rumoured to be making a return is Jan Malmsjö, who now at age 86 would be competing exactly 50 years after his debut in 1969 where 'Hej clown' finished second.

Rumoured to be debuting at the contest is 25-year old YouTube vlogger and prankster Vlad Reiser who will undoubtedly be hoping to add some fun to the contest. 15-year old Instagram singing sensation Bishara Morad is also expected to debut.

Over the past couple of weeks, a number of high profile speculated participants have been rumoured as either definitely taking part of close to being chosen. Already rumoured we have had fan favourite Wiktoria, who was a finalist in 2016 with 'Save Me' and then was a frontrunner to win in 2017 with 'As I Lay Me Down', who will apparently take part with a ballad. Also from 2017, Nano who came 2nd with 'Hold On' and FO&O member Oscar Enestad who reached the finals in 2017 as part of his group with song 'Gotta Thing About You'. We saw his fellow bandmate Felix Sandman almost take the crown this year so it will be interesting to see how he performs.

Also promising a walk down memory lane, 13 time entrant schlager legend Ann-Louise Hanson is also expected to make a return after last competing 15 years ago in 2004. She'll be joined by Arvingarna who will be appearing at Melodifestivalen for their fifth time - however won in 1993 and went on to represent Sweden at Eurovision - their song 'Eloise' placing 7th.

Furthermore, returners John Lundvik, Margaret, Jon Henrik Fjällgren and Magnus Carlsson are all apparently being lined up to perform in the competition. They will be joining The Lovers of Valdaro who won P4 Nästa earlier this year. This year, Benjamin Ingrosso returned to the competition after his 2017 debut and went on to win with his song 'Dance You Off'. It placed 7th at Eurovision 2018.
