Latvia | Markus Riva & Aminata team up for 'Last Dance'
Latvian singer and Eurofan favourite Markus Riva has teamed up with Latvia's 2015 Eurovision representative Aminata to release new track 'Last Dance'.
Their paths crossed back in 2015 when they both competed in Latvian National Selection competition 'Supernova' which Aminata went on to win with 'Love Injected' which got Latvia back in to the final after a six year non-qualification streak before placing sixth at Eurovision 2015 in Vienna, securing Latvia's best placement since 2005! Markus Riva placed second at Supernova with 'Take Me Down'. Now they have teamed up to collaborate on new single 'Last Dance'. The song, written by Riva, is a great and catchy dance track which shows off both artists vocals. I will definitely be dancing all night to this one! Whilst both of their solo verses sound great, when their voices come together it really creates something special. Would Aminata be interested in coming back to Supernova and Eurovision - because there is no doubting that this song would make a strong entry for Latvia's Eurovision 2019 bid! The song is also featured on Riva's new album 'I Can'.
Markus Riva has gone on to participate at Supernova every year since his second place. In 2016 his song 'I Can' finished 3rd in the televote in the Semi Finals however only the top two progressed, with the jury choosing the other two finalists where they then snubbed Riva. He returned in 2017 with 'Dynamite' before making it back to the finals in 2018 with 'This Time' which ultimately placed fifth. We hope that one day Markus will make it through to represent Latvia at Eurovision!
