JESC 2018 | Meet Angélina From France!

November 6, 2018

This year a record breaking 20 countries will take part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Minsk, Belarus on the 25th November 2018.  With around three weeks to the competition, Eurovoxx will introduce you to each artist, and give a little insight to the country they will be representing.

Who is Angélina?

Angélina Nava was born on November 4th, 2007 in La Ciotat, in the South of France. She has been singing and participating in musicals since the age of 6.  In 2016, she was spotted by the casting director of The Voice Kids, Bruno Berberès, and in September 2017, she went on to win the fourth series of the talent show.

Since appearing on The Voice Kids, she joined Enfoirés Kids, a television show in which various child singers have the opportunity to perform in a unique concert that mixes music and comedy.  Alongside singing and performing, Angélina also enjoys dancing, comedy and playing the piano.

France at The Junior Eurovision Song Contest

France will be making their second appearance at Junior Eurovision this year in Minsk. Their debut in the contest came in 2004, with 14 year old Thomas Pontier and his song "Si On Voulait Bien" (If We Would Like To). Despite finishing in 6th place with 78 points, and receiving points from every participating country that year, the French broadcaster France Télévisions decided to withdraw from the contest, saying that there was no motivation to compete.

In May 2016, the EBU announced that they were in contact broadcasters from various countries, including France, about participating in The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Malta; but it wasn't until May 2018 that France announced they would be returning to the contest, after an absence of 14 years.

All the team at Eurovoxx would like to wish this young talented singer a big bon chance in Minsk!

Do you like the song, and think it could win?  Please let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
