Whilst presenting her radio show on 'Magic Radio' , the television presenter confirmed that she would indeed be fronting the national final, which is currently in its fourth year. No official news on when the final will be held, but it is expected to follow previous years where it is in later January or early February of 2019.

She is no stranger to the contest having given out the United Kingdom votes for the BBC this year, and also commentated for the two semi-finals since 2015, which she did with Scott Mills, until Rylan Clarke took that role in 2018. This year the comic, and presenter co-hosted the show from Brighton with Måns Zelmerlöw, that saw SuRie picked to wave the Union Jack in Lisbon.

The BBC have been tight lipped about next years preparations for Tel Aviv, however they have had song camps over the past few months in order to find the best possible song for the United Kingdom. It was recently reported that Helen Riddell who was Head of Delegation for the United Kingdom has also stepped down from the job, indicating that there may be a change of direction for the national final.

In previous years it had been announced that the BBC had turned down Pixie Lott, Katie Melua, and Austria's entry this year. Could they go with an established act for 2019?

This year, the United Kingdom opted to send SuRie with the song "Storm" where she finished 24th out of 26. Scoring 25 points from the public, and only 23 from the juries.
