JESC 2018 | Meet Jael Wena From Australia
This year a record breaking 20 countries will take part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Minsk, Belarus on the 25th November 2018. With around three weeks to the competition, Eurovoxx will introduce you to each artist, and give a little insight to the country they will be representing. The first country up is Australia, who will be represented by Jael Wena.
Who is Jael Wena?
Jael was born on the 22nd December 2005, is twelve years old, and comes from Melbourne Australia. The young artist started singing at the age of four, which saw her talents recognised early, in which she won the national quest Fast track talent showcase for three consecutive years. She is produced and managed by her parents, David and Rebekah Wena at BigWena Productions. This is not her first recorded song. In fact by the age of nine, she had recorded several in her fathers recording studio. Prior to the announcement earlier this year, her version of "Never Enough" had gained her many fans, and much notoriety on YouTube. Junior Eurovision, is the next big step for the singer. She will sing "Champion" for Australia. Check it out below:

How Was Jael Wena Chosen?
Australia, yet again had opted to chose internally, and not hold a national final. The talented singer was chosen back in early September by Head of the Australian Delegation Paul Clarke from Blink TV. Despite being leaked a day early, the song that was to accompany the singer was released a month later, on the 7th October 2018. So far on the official Eurovision YouTube channel it has amased over 57,000 views.

Australia at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
This year will mark the countries fourth consecutive participation at the contest. They first entered back in 2015 when the country debuted in the adult version, and have not looked back since. Their worst result came in 2015 with Bella Paige, and the song "My Girls", came a respectable 8th place scoring 64 points. Australia's best result would come last year when Isabella Clarke came 3rd scoring 172 points with the song "Speak Up". Could Jael Wena go two better and win?
