Serbia | Submission deadline extended for Beovizija 2019

Serbian broadcaster RTS have announced that the submission deadline for Beovizija has been extended by 15 days. The broadcaster is hopeful that these extra 15 days will help to provide them with more suitable songs for Eurovision 2019.
RTS have also announced that at present, the submissions process is only being used to select the song and not the singer, and that the broadcaster has the right to change the winning song or singer.
The rules of Beovizija will remain the same as they were this year, as will the voting, with the winner being decided by 50% televoting anf 50% jury voting by a panel of musical experts.
Next year will see Beovizija being hosted for a second year in a row, after it was brought back by the broadcaster this year after a break of 9 years. Beovizija was used to chose Serbia and Montenegro's participant in 2004 and 2005, and once Serbia and Montenegro became independent from each other, Serbia used it to chose their participant from 2007-2009 and again in 2018.
