JESC 2018 | Wales' Entry 'Berta' Official Music Video Released

Last week Wales chose its first ever artist, and song for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, that will be held in Minsk in a little over a months times. Manw won that honour with the song "Hi Yw Y Berta (She is the prettiest"), and since then the welsh language broadcaster stated the song would be re-vamped. Today, the new song was officially released, and placed on the official Junior Eurovision channel.

The song is written by prominent Welsh song writer Ywain Gwynedd, and it is expected that these changes will see Wales flourish at the contest, and gain a very respectable placing. The song now called "Berta (prettiest)" but still contains the lines 'Hi Yw y Berta' can be watched below. It has amassed nearly three thousand views in such a short time, and has a very positive vibe, and beat to it. It also has young Manw showcasing some of Wales' finest places, from the coast to inland.

The song itself has such a nice melodic feel, with the language making a real impact to the overall feel to it. Even on social media the song has gone down well, with many praising the re-vamp. Is this a good omen for Wales' first ever entry?

Some Of The Positive Comments About The Revamp

Prior to last weeks national final, there were two pre-recorded shows, the first saw an auditioning stage, whilst the second saw mentors Connie Fisher, Stifyn Parri and Tara Bethan whittle down many hopefuls to this evening six finalists.

This year the contest will be held in Minsk, Belarus and will be the 16th official Junior Eurovision. The contest will see a record 20 countries compete, that will see Kazakhstan, and Wales debut, along with Azerbaijan, France and Israel re-join the party.

Wales have a lot of expectation this year, after they came second last year in the 'Eurovision Choir of the year'. Could they do one better this year? Eurovoxx talked about Wales joining the Junior Eurovision. Check it out below:
