Did Brendan Murray & Gaia Cauchi make the X Factor live shows?

Tonight was the next instalment of the UK X Factor's Judges Houses round - with two Eurovision alumni fighting for a place in the live shows kicking off next week. Brendan Murray, who performed 'Dying To Try' at last years Eurovision for Ireland, and Maltese Junior Eurovision 2013 winner Gaia Cauchi both successfully made it to the Judges Houses after a gruelling Six Chair Challenge with Brendan one of the six successful singers in Louis Tomlinson's boys category and Gaia being given a lifeline and put in to a girl group called Sweet Sense. As the stakes were raised once again - how did they do and will they be advancing to the live shows?

Brendan Murray exceeded all expectations of him at the Six Chair Challenge, winning Tomlinson's one-and-only Golden Buzzer which guaranteed him a place through to judges houses without being at risk of having his seat swapped with another act. Tonight, in a lavish villa in Ibiza, Brendan Murray performed 'Nothing Compares 2 U' by Sinead O'Connor to former One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson and his special guests Nile Rodgers and ex-bandmate Liam Payne. The judges felt Brendan's unique tone was really impressive and whilst it wasn't his best performance - that he still had so much potential to be fantastic. As six acts were cut down to four, it was announced that Brendan had done enough to win himself a place in the live televised stage of the competition - which see's the successful acts sing for the public vote between now and December in the aim of being crowned the next winner!

Over in Los Angeles, Gaia Cauchi as part of five-piece girl group Sweet Sense performed 'History' originally by One Direction and despite some fantastic glory notes by Gaia, coach Robbie Williams and his guest David Walliams felt that they showed nerves and worried they weren't ready for the competition ahead as it heated up. Unfortunately this does mean that Gaia's journey on the X Factor UK 2018 has come to an end.
