Romania | National Selection Will Consist Of Multi-City Tour

Romania seem already forward thinking in their plans for the 2019 Eurovision season. According to local reports in the Romanian press, the national broadcaster TVR is planning to host a multi- city national selection process.

Despite not qualifying this year, it would seem that this has not put off TVR from following the same route, and continue to use the multi-city selection process. The paper, Monitoural de Sucaeva has already reported that the city of Sucaeva has already been chosen as one of the potential cities.

The mayor is quoted as saying, "We received a request from Romanian Television to be partners, co-producers for the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 edition... I replied that we agreed to promote the image of the city".

This is the first city that has been highlighted, but over the coming weeks it is expected that others will confirm their part in Romania's national selection. Last year six cities were chosen with the final being held in the nations capital Bucharest. It is expected that this will be the same this year, with different cities hosting the different shows. The selection process is expected to begin this December 2018.

Romania chose "The Humans" with the song "Goodbye" for Lisbon 2018. Unfortunately the group just missed out on a qualification place finishing 11th in their semi final. This was the first time that the country had not qualified. Can they qualify this year?

In Lisbon team Eurovoxx were fortunate enough to interview "The Humans". Check out the interview below:

Do you think the multi-city tour is a good idea? Who would you like to see represent Romania? Please tell us your thoughts in the comments below.
