Montenegro | RTCG confirm Eurovision 2019 participation
It has been reported today that Montenegrin broadcaster RTCG have confirmed Montenegro's participation at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest, making them the latest country who will be participating taking the official tally to 36. The past few years at Eurovision have not gone well for the Balkan state with Montenegro unfortunately failing to qualify to the final at all since Knez made the final in Vienna 2015 with 'Adio'.

Earlier this year it was revealed that RTCG were uncertain on participation in next years contest, releasing a statement that following a series of poor results they had yet to decide whether or not they would participate next year. Next years contest will be hosted in Tel Aviv on May 14th, 16th & 18th. This years representative, Vanja Radovanović, took his beautiful Balkan ballad 'Inje' to Lisbon to represent Montenegro however it failed to qualify out of Semi Final 2 - finishing 16th position with 40 points.
Whilst thirty-six countries have confirmed their participation - earlier today it was announced that Ukraine's state broadcaster UA:PBC have been forced to terminate their broadcasts due to a lack of government funding - raising questions over whether they will be able to fund participation next year despite already confirming their attendance. Other countries that participated this year but have not officially confirmed participation include Armenia, Hungary, Russia and San Marino.
