Romania | TVR Confirms Eurovision Participation For 2019

Great news coming today from Romania , as they confirm their participation for the Eurovision Song Contest 2019.

The Administration Board of the Romanian Public Broadcaster, TVR, just approved Romania's participation costs for Eurovision 2019 in Israel within their budget, which means that we will see Romania's representatives in Tel Aviv next year!

Due to this decision being made because of the financial aspects of Romania's participation, it has not yet been made clear whether TVR will continue with their Selectia Nationala, or will try something new by having an internal selection.

There is no doubt that Eurovoxx will be keeping a close eye on this matter, and we will report it as soon as the information is made available.

The Eurovision Song Contest will take place next year between the 14th, and the 18th of May in Tel Aviv, Israel, after Netta's victory with her song, "Toy".

Romania has participated in Eurovision 19 times since 1994, reaching their best ever placing of 3rd in 2005 with "Let me try" by Luminita Anghel and Sistem. This result was also duplicated in 2010 with the song "Playing with fire" sung by Paula Seling and Ovi. This year marked a stark contrast in fortunes for the eastern nation as they did not qualify for the grand final in Lisbon, reaching only the 11th place in the second semi final. This was the first time that the country failed to make it passed the semi final stages.

Eurovoxx were fortunate enough to interview the Romanian entrants from this year, 'The Humans'. This is what they had to say.
